Introduction

Palmier Pro is a macOS video editor designed from the start to be operated by AI agents. Connect Claude, Codex, or Cursor over MCP, or use the built-in Palmier chat, and the agent can open a project, build a timeline, cut clips, place text, and export the finished video. You can also edit by hand with a full multi-track editor, generate images, video, voiceovers, music, and sound effects on the same timeline, and export XML to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut when you want to finish elsewhere.

FAQ

Does Palmier work with Claude and Codex?

Yes. Palmier Pro exposes the editor over MCP, so Claude, Codex, or Cursor can open a project, build a timeline, make edits, and export. The built-in Palmier chat is another option.

Do I need a paid plan to edit video?

No. The editor itself is free, including the full multi-track timeline, agent access through MCP, local transcription, and NLE XML export. Paid plans add generation credits, cloud transcription, and chat.

What are generation credits?

Credits pay for media generated inside Palmier, such as images, video clips, voiceovers, music, and sound effects. The pricing page says 5,000 credits is roughly 333 images or 2 to 7 minutes of generated video, depending on the model.

Can I finish the edit in Premiere or Resolve?

Yes. Palmier exports NLE XML that you can bring into Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut, so you can hand the cut to another editor without rebuilding it.

Does Palmier train on my footage?

Palmier says it does not use customer content to train Palmier or third-party AI models. The FAQ links to the privacy policy for details, so review it before uploading client or sensitive footage.

Which computers can run it?

Palmier Pro is a macOS app and requires macOS 26 or later, according to the download page. Windows and Linux are not listed as supported.
