Introduction
TypingMind is a chat interface that runs on top of API keys you supply, so one workspace can call OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other providers. Instead of a monthly assistant subscription, you buy a lifetime license and pay each model provider for the tokens you use. The app keeps chats and keys in your browser by default, adds folders, projects, agents, and plugins, and offers a cloud sync option for moving between devices.

FAQ
Do I need a ChatGPT Plus subscription?
No. TypingMind uses API keys, so you pay the model provider for tokens instead of buying a chat subscription. A ChatGPT Plus plan is not required.
Is the license a subscription?
No. The Standard, Extended, and Premium licenses are one-time purchases, and the pricing page says there is no renewal. API usage is billed separately by each provider.
Where are my chats stored?
Chats and keys are stored locally in your browser by default. Cloud sync is optional, and API keys can be encrypted with a password.
Can I use my own models or endpoints?
Yes. The app supports custom models, custom endpoints and proxies, and self-hosting for teams in addition to the named providers.
What does the free trial include?
The free trial lets you try the interface before buying a license, with some premium features locked until a license key is entered.
