FAQ

Is PhotoGov affiliated with any government?

No. PhotoGov states that it is an independent service and is not affiliated with any government, embassy, or consulate. The issuing authority makes the final decision on whether a photo is accepted.

Does PhotoGov alter photos for US applications?

For United States applications, the service says it provides sizing and cropping only, because the U.S. Department of State prohibits digital alterations of ID photographs.

Are any photos free?

Two photos per day are free where the free option is available. In the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the UAE, and some European and Asian countries, a fee applies and is shown before payment.

What does human verification add?

For $4.90, a specialist reviews the photo against the selected document's rules. If it does not meet the requirements, the photo is reprocessed or refunded at no cost.

Can I print the photos at home?

Yes. You can buy a digital photo with a printable A4 sheet, and the checkout shows the exact combination and price for your region.
